KCL has equipment and expertise to perform wide variety of chemical treatments ranging from bleaching, pulping, and biomass purification projects in pilot-scale.
We offer pressurized and atmospheric reactors in high and medium pilot capacity. Options for high or low consistency as well.
Our reactors in conjunction to our mass system offer wide variety of treatment opportunities and processes. The high capacity of our industrial equipment allows us to contract manufacture materials for your needs

Pressurized reactors:
- Purification and fractionation of biomass in high capacity
- 4 m3 pressurized reactor, up to 10 bar (~180 °C)
- 300 L pressurized reactor, up to 20 bar (~200 °C)
- Reactors can be run as semibatch or batch with liquid circulating and mass remaining inside
- Heating with heat exchanger or direct steam
- Cooling with heat exchanger
Atmospheric reactors:
- High-consistency reactors:
- 450 L capacity in continuous reactor with higher capacity options (up to 2200 L)
- Indirect or direct heating with steam
- Dry/high-consistency reactor:
- Continuous reactor for particulates or pellets, 20-100 L/h
- Residence time 10-90 minutes
- Temperature range 50-250 C, hot air blowing or jacket heating
- Low-consistency reactors:
- Open tank reactors with mixing and heating (0.5 m3 to 8 m3)
- High storage mixing tanks with capacity up to 100 m3
- Several atmospheric tanks with mixing & heating with different setups
Side-stream processing:
Possibility to collect the cooking liquor or process chemicals and purify them and recirculate back to the process
- Filtration and control of the waste streams:
- Re-use and recycling of side streams
- Membrane holders for nano and ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis
- Possibility to pre-filtrate macrosolids
- Heating or cooling of the permeate and retentate streams
- Membrane screening
